I began playing with 3D fractals back in 2009 after stumbling upon Ramiro Pérez’s Incendia fractal-generating software. As someone who admits to barely scraping through high school math, I actively avoided anything even remotely algebraic or geometrical until this program showed me a way to painlessly bring my visual design into a 3D world.
I found a freelance designer who could translate my designs into base shapes. Soon after, I launched coffee cups into outer space, wove delicate patterns of iridescent flowers, and ruptured a heart made of happy faces! Other shapes metamorphosed into abstract expressions, dream-like creatures, and natural patterns found in leaves and shells.
Other projects and commitments gradually took me away from making fractals, but I intend to return to it before too long. It’s an enjoyable, meditative diversion with endless possibilities. Please feel free to reach out via the Contact page if you’re interested in purchasing these images.
